As a child, school days always started with a hectic routine of getting the hair right. Combing it, styling it, or figuring out how to hold it with ribbons to look neat for school was part of my day that I couldn‘t skip. As a Black woman, my hair was not the easiest to care for. As I grew, I found out that braids, cornrows, twists, and weaves were available options that could make this routine less time–consuming, so getting ready for college or work got easier. However, I later found out that even these had their disadvantages. When tightly done, they often lead to hair loss. If loosely done, they would not look good. After years of struggle, I realized that all hair types, have their avoidable challenges. I tried several products on the market, but my hair got more damaged and continued thinning. The frustrations made me cut my hair several times. Later, I discovered that organic products made of natural ingredients prevented further hair loss and led to massive growth of my hair. During casual conversations with my friends, they all expressed curiosity about my hair’s drastic changes.
